The Competition

GBR brings together five local libraries to celebrate Canadian authors in an event filled with lively discussion, good-natured competition, and an enthusiastic audience.

5 Books - 5 Defenders - 1 Winner!
5 Books – 5 Defenders – 1 Winner!

Each of 5 local libraries choose a defender (who chooses their book to defend), in hopes of convincing fellow defenders and audience members of their books’ merit in a live debate. The winning defender brings home a trophy for his or her library.

On Saturday, October 26, 2013, I am defending “Omens” by Kelley Armstrong.  I’m so pleased I picked a clear winner and had the chance to defend a work by my favourite author.
